Making a Difference Through Faith, Compassion, and Volunteer Service
We are proud to be part of the Sussex community — a town with deep roots in Loyalist heritage, agriculture, and Maritime tradition. Our congregation actively participates in making life better for our neighbors through a variety of spiritual and practical programs.
Worldwide, Jehovah's Witnesses have helped hundreds of thousands of people improve their reading skills through personalized Bible reading programs. Our congregation continues this work in Sussex by helping individuals learn to read and study using Bible-based materials — completely free of charge.
Jehovah's Witnesses maintain one of the world's largest volunteer disaster-relief networks. When natural disasters strike, trained volunteers mobilize quickly to provide emergency aid, rebuild homes, and offer emotional and spiritual support. Our congregation participates in local and regional efforts across Atlantic Canada.
Life can be challenging. Our congregation offers free Bible-based support for families and individuals facing grief, addiction, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and other struggles. Our elders and experienced members are trained to provide compassionate, practical counsel rooted in Scripture.
We provide Bible-based materials and support in over 1,000 languages. This is especially valuable for Sussex's growing diverse population, ensuring that everyone can access spiritual resources in their own language — all free of charge.
We offer Bible-based programs for children and teenagers that build character, confidence, and communication skills. Young people in our congregation learn public speaking, research skills, and how to apply Bible principles to navigate the challenges of modern life.
Our members regularly visit elderly or isolated individuals in the Sussex area, providing companionship, spiritual encouragement, and practical assistance. No one should feel alone, and we are committed to being a source of comfort and friendship for our senior neighbors.
Sussex is a town we are proud to call home. Settled by United Empire Loyalists in 1786 and named after the Duke of Sussex, this vibrant community in the Kennebecasis River valley has a rich history of agriculture, military service, and Maritime hospitality.
Known as the "Dairy Centre of the Maritimes" and the "Covered Bridge Capital of Atlantic Canada," Sussex is also famous for the Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta, over 25 historic murals, and the stunning natural landscapes of Kings County.
Our congregation has been a part of this community for decades, sharing the Bible's message of hope, peace, and love with our friends and neighbors. We are committed to continuing this work and making Sussex an even better place to live.
